Above is the direct link to all (hopefully) of the necessary information and details on the May 2022 Road-E-O, to be hosted by the Cecil County Department of Public Works Solid Waste Division at its Central Landfill, where all Road-E-O activities will occur.  At this link are the following:

  • Description of the Road-E-O
  • Registration information
    • Contestants
    • Guests
    • Volunteers/Judges
    • Sponsors
  • ONLINE registration forms for all contestants, guests, and volunteers/judges

(Note: Paper registration through the USPS will not be accepted. There are various deadlines for contestants and sponsors.  Fees increase May 1 for contestants. Payment is due after completion of the online registration; this can be done either by sending a check or sending an email requesting to be billed in order to pay by credit card.  Registration is not considered complete until payment, whether check or credit card information, is received.  There is no fee for volunteers/judges unless attending the Thursday dinner.)

  •  All attendees (contestants, guests, volunteers/judges, observers, sponsor reps) will need to “sign off” on an Event Waiver and a COVID waiver.
  • After completing the online registration, two emails will be automatically sent, including an invoice if payment is due.

The above link is to the SWANA Pennsylvania Keystone Chapter website; because (1) Keystone is one of the three SWANA chapters putting on this Regional Road-E-O (albeit the Mid-Atlantic Chapter and Cecil County is the host for this year) and (2) Keystone has the capability to handle registrations online through their website.  If there are any issues with the registration process, contact Keystone’s Chapter’s Business Manager at chanda@keystoneswana.org.

As discussed previously, to have a successful Road-E-O, we need CONTESTANTS for the four different pieces of heavy landfill equipment and three types of refuse trucks, VOLUNTEERS to be judges and otherwise assist in promoting the Road-E-O and any on-site support on May 13, and SPONSORS.  Contestants must either be SWANA members in good standing or someone else in their organization/company must be a member in full standing; there is no such requirement for volunteers/judges.

If any questions, contact Road-E-O Co-Chairs David Horne (dhorne@ccgov.org) or Steve Lippy (s.lippy@verizon.net).
