The information (from the updated 2026 Chapter Scholarship web page for SWANA-Mid Atlantic website) was distributed to all the Chapter membership via, posting information on Chapter website, and a Chapter-wide email blast. Chapter members were encouraged to get the word out to their high school, college, university, organization.
As a result – two (2) eligible applicants were received before the Chapter deadline of May 4, 2026. These were evaluated and received an award. Both applications are Chapter’s Category I and will not be forwarded for further consideration by SWANA National HQ because it ceased to offer an award in this Category (Grant H. Flint International Scholarship Program).
The higher scorer Jonah Landis received the $1,500 Mid Atlantic Chapter Scholarship Award. As a category I winner, Jonah’s major will be in Aviation Management (Pilot/Flights Operations) at Marywood University, Scranton, PA. He’s sponsored by Jeffery Landis (father), Senior Technical Advisor at Maryland Environmental Service is a Chapter member.
Max Andrew Ozbolt, an award for $1,000; is Category I. Max, son of Joel Ozbolt, Operations Supervisor, Engineering Support Technician at Howard County is a Chapter member. Max will be majoring in Acting at Syracuse University, NY.
All sponsors and student members are active members and in good standing. The Chapter award presentation occurred on June 02, 2025, at the MRN/SWANA Mid-Atlantic Annual Conference at Martin’s West.
