The Mid-Atlantic Chapter held our annual meeting on September 23, 2020, starting at 2:30 PM. While COVID prevented us from holding this meeting in person (and of course holding our annual crab feast), the Chapter held a virtual meeting in its place with some special twists. David Biderman, Executive Director and CEO of SWANA updated the Chapter on the current state-of-affairs and upcoming plans for SWANA. In addition, we viewed the presentation by one of this year’s SWANApalooza keynote speakers, New York City’s Commissioner Kathryn Garcia. Ms. Garcia gave a first-hand account on the impact of Covid-19 on New York City’s solid waste services including lessons learned. After all of the formal business of the Chapter, folks were able to socialize via the virtual meeting and relax with peers.
