Zero Waste Principles & Practices (3-day Certification Course) – November 14-16, 2022 (hosted by Mid-Atlantic Chapter)

The SWANA Zero Waste Principles & Practices (3-Day Course) is being offered on November 14-16, 2022 at the Ashburton Filtration Plant, 3001 Druid Park Drive, Baltimore, MD 21215.  The objective of this course is to integrate professionals’ understanding of zero waste with their existing waste management systems, practices, and policies to move local systems toward locally-defined Zero Waste goals.  This 3-day course consists of presentations, classroom exercises, and case studies.   Please note that the Certification Exam will NOT be offered at the conclusion of this course.

Upon Completion of this Course Participants will:

  • Be introduced to Zero Waste, including a survey of different definitions and perspectives
  • Learn Zero Waste strategies affecting each stage of product lifestyles
  • Understand collections and processing technology options
  • Change behavior through education and outreach
  • Prepare for SWANA’s Zero Waste Principles & Practices certification exam.
